A few weeks ago HashiCorp decided to switch the terraform license model from an open source license to the Business Source License (BSL) model, so there’s now a community driven terraform fork called OpenTofu.I love the name, and I hope the project can establish itself as a alternative to the now not-so-open terraform project.

OpenTofu already has support from companies like Gruntwork and projects such as terraform-docs – both well known in the terraform ecosystem.

News about OpenTF can be found on their blog at https://opentofu.org/blog, source code can be found on GitHub at github.com/opentofu/opentofu.
